Lou Qinjian, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, stressed further improvement of people’s livelihood during the upcoming spring festival holiday. He made the remarks when going on an inspection tour in Huai’an city on Monday and Tuesday.
Xu Yongbing, a 95-year-old veteran Party member in Xuzhuang Village, Gaogou Town, Lianshui County, participated in the Huaihai Campaign, the Battle of Crossing the Yangtze River, and the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea.
Xie Zhongchong, the recipient of special care in Biandan Village, Gaogou Town, is a veteran who was injured on duty.
Lou Qinjian visited them to learn about their living conditions and was happy to know that their lives are guaranteed.
Lou said that this year marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of CPC, adding that we have built a well-off society in an all-round way and embarked on a new journey of socialist modernization but we must not forget the contributions made by veteran party members and veterans to the revolution and national construction so that we should give more and better care to ensure their lives are more comfortable.
When visiting three villagers’ homes in Gaogou town and Wangjiaying sub-district, Lou Qinjian spoke highly of their optimistic life attitude and the new style of social civilization, adding that achieving common prosperity is an important mission of the Chinese Communist Party and some people are suffering financial dilemmas due to illnesses and unbalanced development existing from region to region, making it important for the party and the government to attach great importance to resolving the difficulties and improving people’s life.
Lou Qinjian visited new rural communities and emphasized that the concentrated improvement of rural housing conditions in northern Jiangsu is an important driving force for the promotion of rural modernization,making it necessary to comply with farmers’ yearning for a better life, respecting farmers’ wishes, and promoting comprehensive rural revitalization and agricultural and rural modernization so as to fuel the development of rural industries, increase farmers’ incomes, and rural modernization.
