As of January 20, Jiangsu has received 314.3 thousand new crown vaccines for a total of 411 thousand doses. There have been no reaports of serious abnormal reactions,indicating good safety.
At present, the main targets of vaccination are people at high risk of COVID-19 infection between 18 and 59 years old and personnel in key positions that guarantee the basic operation of the society, including international and domestic transportation crews, crews, customs, border inspection personnel, and frontline medical and health care personnel etc.
Experts cautioned that at this stage COVID-19 vaccine has just started to be administered and people still need to take preventive measures such as wearing masks, washing hands frequently, maintaining social distancing and reducing crowd gathering.
More than 15 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in China since the country launched its vaccination program in December last year, China's health authorities said on Jan 20.
