East China’s Jiangsu province will invest 11.4 billion yuan in the 14th five-year plan period to improve the ecology of the small and medium-sized rivers across the province.
Since 2009, Jiangsu has carried out three rounds of small and medium-sized river treatment by completing an investment of 11.3 billion yuan and treating a river length of 4,009 kilometers, effectively improving the drainage capacity of the regional river network, improving the river water ecological environment, and facilitating production and life.
During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, Jiangsu plans to dredge 98 small and medium rivers with a total length of 2,206 kilometers by investing approximately 11.4 billion yuan.
In the new round of river treatment, Jiangsu will make comprehensive consideration of water disasters, water resources, water ecology, and water environment, and make overall plans for water resources, water ecology, and urban water conservancy construction.
