The Standing Committee of the 13th Provincial People's Congress kicked off the 20th meeting in Nanjing on Wednesday morning.
Deputy Director Li Xiaomin of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress presided over the first plenary meeting.
Present at the meeting were deputy directors Wang Yanwen, Chen Zhenning, Xu Zhongzi, Xing Chunning, Liu Handong, Wei Guoqiang, Qu Futian and Secretary-General Chen Mengmeng.
Vice Governor Ma Qiulin, President Xia Daohu of the Provincial Court, Chief Prosecutor Liu Hua of the Provincial Procuratorate and leading officials from the Provincial Supervision Committee attended the meeting as non-voting delegates.
Chen Mengmeng gave an explanation on the agenda and schedule of the meeting. 25 agenda items will be discussed during the 3-day meeting.
The meeting of directors of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress, the Provincial Government, and the Provincial Procuratorate respectively submitted personnel appointment and removal cases to this meeting.
Li Xiaomin, Fan Jinlong, member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Executive Vice Governor, and Liu Hua respectively gave explanations. The candidates made speeches.
On behalf of the provincial government, Fan Jinlong made a report on the implementation of the livelihood projects in 2020.
The report pointed out that the provincial party committee and the provincial government have always put people's livelihood work in a prominent position and carried out in-depth investigations of prominent people's livelihood issues.

The leading official of the Legislative Affairs Committee of the Provincial People's Congress made a report on the review results of the "China (Jiangsu) Pilot Free Trade Zone Regulations (Draft)", "Jiangsu Province Volunteer Service Regulations (Revised Draft)" and "Jiangsu Province Land Administration Regulations (Revised Draft)".
The provincial government submitted a proposal to the meeting for review of the "Jiangsu Provincial Highway Regulations (Draft Amendment)", and the principal officials of the Provincial Department of Transportation made an explanation.
The principal official of the General Office of the Provincial Government made a report on the handling of the suggestions, criticisms and opinions submitted by the delegates to the Third Session of the 13th Provincial People’s Congress.
