The provincial government of Jiangsu held a meeting on Tuesday morning to solicit opinions from leaders of the non-Communist parties on the province’s development plan in the 14th five-year plan period. Wu Zhenglong, governor of Jiangsu, presided over the meeting.
The provincial leaders of the non-communist parties are Xue Guo’an of the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang, Wu Shengxing of China Democratic League, Hong Huimin of China National Democratic Construction Association, Zhu Xiaojin of China Association for Promoting Democracy, Zhou Jianmin of Chinese Peasants and Workers Democratic Party, Ma Jianguo of China Zhi Gong Party, Zhou Lan of Jiu San Society, Xu Zhongzi of the Provincial Federation of Industry and Commerce and Lyu Jian who represent non-party personages.
The leaders of the provincial committee of the non-Communist parties believe that the year 2020 was a very special and extraordinary year. Under the strong leadership of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, China took the lead in controlling the COVID-19 pandemic and realizing economic recovery to the satisfaction of the people and caught the attention of the world, fully demonstrating the significant advantages of the leadership of the Communist Party of China and the socialist system with Chinese characteristics.
They put forth suggestions concerning demand-side management, improving the level of technological innovation, creating an innovative ecology, food security and arable land protection, soil pollution prevention and control, implementation of urban renewal actions, coordinated development of coastal areas along the Yangtze River, support for the development of private enterprises, rural revitalization, cultural construction, and education that satisfies the people.
Wu Zhenglong said that during the 13th Five-Year Plan period, a well-off society has been established in an all-round way and the construction of the new Jiangsu has made important achievements with encouraging development results.
The Governor remarked that standing at the historical intersection of the two centenary goals, Jiangsu will practice new development concepts, promote new development patterns, start a new journey of comprehensively building socialist modernization, and continue to meet the people's yearning for a better life, making it necessary to give full play to the advantages of the multi-party cooperation and political consultation system under the leadership of the Communist Party of China so as to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China with outstanding achievements.
