East China’s Jiangsu province will make unremitting efforts to promote talent reform at scientific research institutes and universities, according to a meeting held Thursday in Nanjing.
Guo Wenqi, Member of the Standing Committee and Director of the Organization Department of the Provincial Party Committee, pointed out that talents are the foundation of colleges and research institutes, innovation is the source of power for colleges and institutes, and leading development is the soul of value for colleges and institutes.
Efforts should be made to make in-depth advancement of the talent reform and system innovation of colleges and universities, build a strong team of high-quality talents, stimulate talent innovation vitality, optimize the supply of talents based on demand, highlight key points and deepen collaborative innovation, he said.
He called for continuous strengthening the political leadership of talents, forging a healthy and progressive teaching style, creating an academic atmosphere for concentrated research, and promoting the spirit of scientists.
Guo Wenqi requested that to promote the development and reform of talents in universities and research institutes, the top leaders of the party and government should grasp the notion of talent as the primary resource.
