The remark was made by Lou Qinjian, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, on Tuesday evening when greeting the model workers and exemplary individuals returning from a commendation gathering in Beijing. Lou Qinjian emphasized that it is necessary to study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech at the national commendation meeting honoring model workers and exemplary individuals, give full play to the leading role of the role models, rely on the working class and working people, stand on a new stage of development, implement the new development concept, construct new development patterns, promote high-quality development, and strive to take the lead in realizing socialist modernization.
He said that in recent years, the working class and working people in the province have worked hard in economic development, surmounted the peak in innovation and entrepreneurship, and made selfless dedication to social construction, and give full play to their leading role.
The CPC provincial chief said since the beginning of this year, in the prevention and control of covid-19, flood prevention and flood control, and resumption of work and production, the working class has been making conscientious, responsible, and dedicated efforts to win one victory after another and has achieved decisive achievements in building a well-off society at a high level.
Noting that General Secretary Xi Jinping made his first domestic inspection tour in Jiangsu since the 5th plenary session of the 19th CPC Central Committee, Lou Qinjian hoped that all model workers and exemplary individuals will take the honor as the driving force to forge ahead, arm their minds with the Xi Jinping Thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era, and thoroughly implement the General Secretary’s important instructions during his inspection tour in Jiangsu and at the commendation meeting from the political height of strengthening the four consciousnesses and the four self-confidences, safeguarding the authority of the CPC Central Committee and getting united around the centralized and unified leadership the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core.
Lou Qinjian asked party committees and governments and labor unions at all levels to safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of the working class and the working people, publicize the outstanding deeds of model workers and advanced individuals, and encourage workers to work hard for the realization of the second centenary goal.
125 people from Jiangsu were awarded the honorary titles at the national gathering on Tuesday.
