East China’s Jiangsu province convened a meeting Sunday to study the important speech made by General Secretary Xi Jinping at the third central symposium on work related to Xinjiang. Lou Qinjian, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, presided over the meeting and delivered a speech. Wu Zhenglong, governor of Jiangsu, stressed the significance of Xi’s remarks. Huang Lixin, chairwoman of the provincial committee of the CPPCC, attended the symposium.
Lou Qinjian pointed out that General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech at the third central symposium on work related to Xinjiang summarized the major achievements in Xinjiang work since the second symposium, made in-depth analysis of the current situation facing the work related to Xinjiang, and explained the party's strategy of governing Xinjiang in the new era.
He said Xi Jinping’s speech is a programmatic document to guide the work related to Xinjiang in the new era as it clarifies the guiding ideology, objectives, tasks, policies, and strategic measures at present and in the future and makes comprehensive arrangement for the promotion of social stability and long-term stability in Xinjiang.
Noting that Xinjiang has made progress and development in various undertakings by firmly and consciously implementing the guidelines and policies of the Party Central Committee on the work related to Xinjiang, Lou Qinjian remarked that since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core has attached strategic importance to the work related to Xinjiang, promoted the work related to Xinjiang from an overall perspective, drawn blueprints, pointed directions, and clarified the path, and promoted all-round progress and historic achievements in Xinjiang.
The CPC provincial chief noted at present, people in Xinjiang enjoy harmonious society, stable economic development and affluent life, a strong indication that the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core has demonstrated its correctness in its governance strategy in Xinjiang and the remarkable progress in the pairing-up support and the superiority of the socialist system with Chinese characteristics.
We must thoroughly implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech, more firmly and consciously implement the policies and measures of the central government’s support for Xinjiang’s construction, said Lou Qinjian, adding that all-out efforts are required to strengthen the pairing-up support to Xinjiang, and promote long-term stability and high-quality development in Xinjiang in the new era from the political height of strengthening the four consciousnesses and the four self-confidences, safeguarding the authority of the CPC Central Committee and getting united around the centralized and unified leadership the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core.
Lou Qinjian stressed the importance of grasping the party's strategy for governing Xinjiang in the new era, making comprehensive analysis of the guidelines and yardsticks of the pairing-up support to Xinjiang, promoting the exchanges between ethnic groups, and maintain the overall and long-term stability in Xinjiang.
Efforts should be made to improve people's livelihood in the course of development, promote the development in the aided areas with higher quality, more efficiency and greater sustainability so that the people in the aided areas can lead a happier and better life, said Lou.
He also stressed the importance of promoting the modernization of the governance system and governance capabilities, and creating a social governance pattern featuring co-construction, co-governance and co-sharing.
Lou Qinjian emphasized that the work related to Xinjiang is a matter of great concern to the reunification of the motherland, national unity, and national security, adding that it is also related to the realization of the "two centenary" goals and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, making it necessary to fully implement the requirements and deployment of the central government’s pairing-up assistance in Xinjiang and holding it a major political responsibility.
