An on-site meeting was held Wednesday in Jiangyin city on the promotion of modernization construction in Jiangsu. Fan Jinlong, member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Executive Vice Governor, attended the meeting and delivered a speech.
In February last year, Nanjing Jiangbei New Area and Jiangning District, Jiangyin City of Wuxi, Liyang City of Changzhou, Suzhou Industrial Park, and Kunshan City were shortlisted to carry out pilot work in modernization construction under the leadership of the provincial party committee and the provincial government.
Fan Jinlong pointed out that Jiangsu will complete the historical task of building a well-off society in an all-round way at a high level this year, and will start a new journey of socialist modernization during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period.
We must thoroughly study and implement the Xi Jinping Thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era and the General Secretary’s important speech on Jiangsu’s development, said Fan.
Efforts should be made to promote high quality development so as to ensure stability on the six fronts and security in the six areas, accomplish the targets and tasks of building a moderately prosperous society in all respects and winn the battle against poverty.
The six fronts refer to employment, the financial sector, foreign trade, foreign investment, domestic investment, and expectations. The six areas refer to job security, basic living needs, operations of market entities, food and energy security, stable industrial and supply chains, and the normal functioning of primary-level governments.
He called for further efforts to promote high-quality development, boost industrial growth, increase farmers’ income, improve rural governance, and improve people’s livelihood and wellbeing so as to give a strong impetus to the modernization of the governance system and governance capabilities, and focus on building a market-oriented, legalized, international business environment.
