He asked education departments at all levels in the province to thoroughly study and implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions on postgraduate education, highlight morality and foster people, unswervingly follow the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era to cultivate more top-notch talents with both ability and political integrity.
The provincial party chief asked Jiangsu-based colleges and universities to strengthen the cultivation of innovative talents to better meet the needs of high-level talents for high-quality development by focusing on major tasks such as the advancement of the province's industrial foundation and the modernization of the industrial chain, the construction of an innovation system, and the construction of a beautiful Jiangsu.
Efforts should be made to follow the law of educational development, further optimize and adjust the setting of disciplines, improve the level of tutors, improve the talent training system, promote the province’s postgraduate education to a new level, and provide solid talent support, intellectual support, and innovation support for the construction of a new Jiangsu, said Lou Qinjian.
In the written instruction, Wu Zhenglong asked the education departments at all levels in Jiangsu to implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions on postgraduate education, recognize the strategic urgency of strengthening postgraduate education, fulfill the fundamental task of fostering people with morality, and always put the correct political direction and value orientation throughout the whole process.
Efforts should be made to adapt to the needs of technological revolution, industrial transformation and modernization, aim at the frontier and key areas, deepen reform and opening up, strengthen service demand, and accelerate the creation of a high-level talent team, said the governor.
He said measures should be taken to focus on the quality of graduate education, follow the law of talent training, promote the integration of science and education and the integration of production and education, give full play to improving tutors capabilities, accelerate the construction of a modern graduate education system, promote a new development pattern and high-quality development, and make new and greater contributions to the construction of a new Jiangsu.
Vice Governor Ma Xin said in his speech that the universities and research institutes are tasked with postgraduate training and therefore need deep understanding of the new situation and tasks faced by postgraduate education, start a new journey of comprehensive construction of modernization, aim at building a strong province with modern education, focus on cultivation of talents with morality, and accelerate the promotion of postgraduate education through reform and innovation.
