East China’s Jiangsu province will step up the efforts to promote new energy vehicles in the rural areas in the coming years, according to the launch of the Jiangsu leg of the New Energy Vehicle Promotion Campaign in the Rural Area that was kicked off at the Nanjing Airport International Expo Center Sunday morning.
The Jiangsu leg of the New Energy Vehicle Promotion Campaign in the Rural Area is organized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and Ministry of Commerce. It was hosted by the Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, and the Provincial Dept. of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.
At present, China ranks first in the world in the annual production and sales of new energy vehicles. Jiangsu has placed the new energy automobile industry under key cultivation in its 13+1" advanced manufacturing clusters.
Jiangsu produces more than 100,000 new energy vehicles each year, with an average annual growth rate of about 190% in the past 7 years. A relatively complete new energy vehicle industry system has been initially established.
The provincial government has issued policies to encourage the consumption of new energy vehicles, including promoting and improving the construction of supporting facilities such as new energy vehicle charging and dedicated parking spaces, and increasing the financial incentives for eliminating old vehicles and purchasing new energy vehicles.
