The Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference held a meeting on Monday to study the important speeches made by General Secretary Xi Jinping at a commemoration marking the 75th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War and at a national meeting honoring role models in the COVID-19 fight. Huang Lixin, chairwoman of the Provincial CPPCC, presided over the meeting.
Huang Lixin said we must thoroughly study and implement the spirit of the General Secretary's important speeches, vigorously promote the great spirit of the war of resistance against Japanese aggression during WWII, uphold and strengthen the party's overall leadership, strengthen the correct political direction, adhere to the people-centered approach, demonstrate the role of the CPPCC, and contribute wisdom to the construction of a new Jiangsu.
Huang Lixin emphasized that General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech a national meeting honoring role models in the COVID-19 fight has showcased and demonstrated the significant advantages of the leadership of the Communist Party of China and China’s socialist system.
She added that General Secretary Xi’s speech has pointed out the way forward and injected strong impetus for further efforts to prevent and control the epidemic and fulfill the goals in economic and social development.
Efforts should be made to give full play to the role of the CPPCC as a specialized consultation agency, and make greater contributions to seizing domestic and international economic cycles and building a well-off society in an all-round way, said the chairwoman.
The Communist Party of China Central Committee had adopted extraordinary measures to tackle the extraordinary incident of the COVID-19 epidemic and the Chinese people put up a strong defense with unity to contain the COVID-19 epidemic, Xi Jinping said at the meeting held last Tuesday morning in Beijing.
The CPC Central Committee has insisted on making people's lives and health the first priority, Xi said, noting that all-out efforts were made to ensure that no single patient was left unattended to.
The cost of treating COVID-19 patients was fully covered by the government, Xi added.
