A symposium was held Saturday in Suzhou city to mark the one-year anniversary of the launch of the free trade zone in the city. Lan Shaomin, member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Suzhou Municipal Party Committee, addressed the event.
In his speech, Lan Shaomin stated that the Suzhou Free Trade Zone should be built as an important bridge connecting the international and domestic markets by maximizing the effect of the free trade zone to the extreme to explore a new development pattern centering on "internal circulation," and speed up a "dual circulation" growth model in which "internal circulation" and "international circulation" promote and supplement each other.
In the past year since the Suzhou Free Trade Zone was unveiled, 132 reform and innovation measures have been launched and 66 cases of innovative achievements have been formed. 60% of them are pioneering in the province.
The new measures have promoted the increase of more than 29 thousand market players, with registered domestic capital of 85.2 billion yuan.
319 foreign-funded enterprises were launched during the year, registering actual use of foreign capital of 1.707 billion US dollars, an increase of 131% year-on-year.
Suzhou also added 948 high-quality technology projects during the past year.
The contract-signing ceremony witnessed the settlement of 100 high-quality projects with a total investment of about 50 billion yuan in the Suzhou Free Trade Zone.
