East China’s Jiangsu saw its foreign trade rise 4.2 percent year-on-year in July, with exports and imports up 1.3 percent and 9.1 percent respectively, official data showed on August 15.
The province’s export totaled 248.5 billion yuan in July, up 1.3% year on year. Its imports rose by 9.1% to hit 156.1 billion yuan. The volume of foreign trade totaled 404.7 billion yuan, up 4.2% year on year.
The volume of imports and exports in general trade totaled 1.29 trillion yuan in the first seven months of this year, rising 2.9% from a year ago.
The private sector posted surging performance in the first seven months of this year by totaling 821.6 billion yuan in its exports and imports, rising 10.2% from a year earlier.
In the first 7 months, Jiangsu registered 11.91 billion yuan, 109.41 billion yuan, and 45.15 billion yuan in exports of medical instruments and equipment, integrated circuits, and mobile phones, an increase of 45.1%, 15.1%, and 21.9% on an annual basis.
