Recently, two 400-meter-long pedestrian bridges have been erected over the pavement encircling the Jinji Lake.
Due to the construction of Jinji Lake Tunnel (金鸡湖隧道), certain parts of the round-the-lake pavement are temporarily closed and people in the neighborhood have to make a detour when they walk through, which is both inconvenient and unsafe. For the convenience of residents and tourists, the project management office has specially put up two provisional overhead walkways on the building sites to the east and west of the tunnel.
The pedestrian bridges, which are covered by artificial turf, can easily merge into the surrounding plants. The late-model prefabricated bridges are not only sturdy and durable, they can also be transferred to other sites for reuse after going off-duty by the Jinji Lake.
More and more residents and tourists are stepping on the new bridges to enjoy the lake scenery and expect the tunnel’s opening to traffic at the end of 2022.
