A slew of activities were held in Jiangsu Province to celebrate the International Children’s Day.
A reading activity was held in the Xuanwu Lake of Nanjing to organize the local children in an interaction with writers and educators to exchange views on reading and writing.
A calligraphy event in Jiangning District attracted throngs of parents and their children, including some doctors and nurses who were sent to aid Wuhan to contain the COVID-19 pandemic.
The calligraphers gave demonstrations on site, and the children and parents carefully copied and experienced the charm of calligraphy art.
Learning to be grateful has also become the theme of Children's Day activities. Changzhou Boai Primary School and the children of Hubei Huangshi Daye Baokang Primary School were paired up for online communication. A primary school in Jinjiang City donated anti-epidemic materials and stationery to a school in Yangxin County in Hubei Province.
Donations were also made before the Children's Day. An education fund in Siyang County donated 20 thousand yuan to 52 needy students. Student of Jinkou Middle School of Zhenjiang visited the local special education school to teach the disabled children some skills.
