East China’s Jiangsu province will take tougher measures to address the pollution hazards of small chemical plants along the Yangtze River. Fan Jinlong, executive vice governor of Jiangsu, went on an inspection tour in Yangzhou on Thursday to supervise the special program dealing with the irregularities in the operation of the small chemical plants.
When visiting Yangzhou Techia Materials Co., Ltd., Fan inspected the warehouse for dangerous chemicals and the temporary storage area for solvent to be pumped.
During his inspection tour in Qingshan township government, Fan inquired about the progress in the new round of campaign to address the safety hazards in small chemical plants.
Fan Jinlong demanded tougher measures to implement the policies, decisions and plans and bring into full play the supervising role of NPC deputies so as to strengthen the safety regulation at the grassroots level and make effective progress in the regulation of small chemical plants.
