Wu Zhenglong, governor of Jiangsu, joined in the NPC deputies from Jiangsu province on Tuesday in the group deliberation of the work report of the NPC Standing Committee, the work report of the Supreme People's Court and the work report of the Supreme People's Procuratorate.
Wu said the work report of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, delivered by Li Zhanshu, chairman of the National People's Congress Standing Committee, to the third session of the 13th National People's Congress for deliberation, is guided by the Xi Jinping Thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era and maintain the organic unity of upholding the leadership of the Party, the people being the masters of the country, and governing the country according to the rule of law.
He said the National People’s Congress and its Standing Committee have implemented high-quality legislation and supervision since last year by uniting more closely around the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core to have ensured the implementation of major reform and development tasks, safeguarded the interests of the people, and mobilized the enthusiasm and initiative of NPC deputies to participate in the country’s political affairs.
The governor said the inspection tour of Chairman Li Zhanshu in Jiangsu last June on the enforcement of the water pollution control law has served as a forceful motivation for Jiangsu to strengthen analysis and control of pollution for a better water environment.
Wu Zhenglong said in the next stage of work Jiangsu will implement the spirit of the two sessions, improve the level of administration according to law, promote governance under the rule of law, create better conditions for the provincial people's congress and its standing committee to perform their duties, and work together to promote new steps in high-quality development and in the construction of a new Jiangsu
Governor Wu also spoke highly of the work report of the Supreme People's Court and the work report of the Supreme People's Procuratorate.
He noted that the two reports have upheld the Xi Jinping Thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era and the Party’s absolute leadership, fulfilled the responsibilities entrusted by the Constitution and laws, served high-quality development, advanced the modernization of judicial system and capacity for the benefits of the people, and played an important role in promoting the modernization of the national governance system and governance capabilities.
