East China’s Jiangsu province is placed second in a national assessment of the work to make government affairs transparent to the public.
The assessment is carried out by third-party institutions under the entrustment of the State Council. Last year, Jiangsu took a series of measures to make government affairs transparent to the public such as the incorporation of the annual government information disclosure work of 50 provincial-level government agencies into the legal construction monitoring indicators. In recent years, the Chinese government has increased openness of its affairs and responded to public concerns through various means including the Internet and cloud computing.
