East China’s Jiangsu province has spared no efforts to accelerate the resumption of work and production by unveiling a slew of preferential policies to help enterprises tide over difficulties, according to a press conference held Wednesday by the general office of the provincial government.
Latest statistics show 99.7% of the enterprises above designated size has resumed work and production.
The number of workers returning to their jobs has been increased from 75.6% to 94%.
84% of the SMEs have resumed work and production.
Based on the amount of the industrial use of electricity, the province’s industrial production capacity has been resumed from 71.1% to 94.0%.
With the gradual recovery of production capacity, Jiangsu reported year-on-year growth in its industrial output value in March, reversing the downward trend since February.
At Wednesday’s press conference, the human resources and social security, commerce, taxation and banking institutions introduced specific measures for Jiangsu’s resumption of work and production in terms of supporting enterprises in recruiting workers, helping to expand the international market, opening green channels for financing, and reducing tax costs.
With multi-pronged efforts, more than 1,400 enterprises in varied supply chains have resumed production while key enterprises in the industrial chain of automobiles, ships, wires and cables have restarted their work and production.
Nearly 60 billion yuan of the 236.5 billion yuan of industrial capital has been injected into major investment projects, accounting for 25.2% of the total.
In the meantime, Jiangsu will step up its efforts for investment in new infrastructures by promoting the construction of 5G, big data centers, new energy vehicle charging piles, artificial intelligence, industrial Internet, Internet of Things and other new infrastructures. The province will invest 12.7 billion yuan to build 52 thousand 5G base stations throughout the year.
