A chartered train carrying migrant workers from Macheng County, Central China's Hubei province, arrived Wednesday in Wuxi city, East China's Jiangsu province.
The chartered train carrying a total of 700 migrant workers from Macheng County pulled into the train station in Wuxi.
This marks the largest number workers that Wuxi has received from Hubei, the hardest-hit region in China by the novel coronavirus epidemic.
Authorities in Wuxi and Macheng cooperated with the railway system to arrange for a train to pick up the workers in Macheng.
The human resources and social security bureau in Wuxi arranged for 20 buses to pick up the workers at the train station under the assistance of 50 volunteers.
With the health certification issued by authorities in Hubei, the workers were given the health QR code of Wuxi so that they will not be subjected to medical observation before starting to work in the local companies.
Over the past month, Wuxi has been stepping up efforts to help tackle the shortage of labor encountered by the local companies and help migrant workers get back to their jobs with the aim of accelerating the resumption of production in the city in an orderly and safe manner.
