A 300,000-ton super-large tanker entered Nantong Qidong COSCO Offshore Outfitting Terminal on Monday. In the next two years, this tanker will be retrofitted into a floating production set integrating production, storage and offloading by installing integrated modules.
The oil storage and unloading platform has become the largest ship of this type in the world. With a total price of about 1.2 billion yuan, the transformation project is the highest new order signed by Nantong Qidong Shipbuilding Company since the outbreak of the novel coronavirus epidemic. This project is also the largest large-scale and tonnage ultra-large oil tanker imported for the first time in the North Channel of the Yangtze River Estuary. The operation difficulty is the highest in history. Boasting the highest operational difficulty in history, the project will greatly increase the international construction competitiveness of Jiangsu’s shipbuilding enterprises, and accelerate the pace of product transformation and upgrading.
