East China’s Jiangsu province has taken measures to guard against the imported cases of novel coronavirus disease or COVID-19, according to a meeting held on Tuesday in Nanjing. Fan Jinlong, member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and executive deputy governor, attended the meeting and delivered a speech.
Faced with the new challenges brought by the rapid increase of the imported CPVID-19 cases in the Chinese mainland, we must clearly understand the seriousness and complexity of prevention and control against the imported COVID-19 cases, maintain high vigilance, and help to prevent and control the epidemic and achieve economic and social development goals, according to a statement released after the meeting.
The Chinese mainland on Tuesday reported 10 new imported cases of the novel coronavirus disease or COVID-19, bringing the total number of imported cases to 79, according to the National Health Commission Wednesday.
Of the 10 new imported cases, six were reported in Beijing, two in Shanghai, one in Shandong and one in Gansu, according to the commission.
