Third national emergency medical team leaves Jiangsu for Wuhan

East China’s Jiangsu province has sent to Wuhan its third national emergency medical team to Wuhan, the epicenter of the novel coronavirus epidemic that broke out in late January and quickly spread to other parts of the country.


The 44-member third national emergency medical team from Jiangsu consists of doctors and nurses from 11 traditional Chinese medicine hospitals in Nanjing, Changzhou, Nantong, Yancheng and some other cities.

The six doctors and 37 nurses are from the departments of pulmonology, critical medicine, medical imaging, encephalopathy and emergency medicine.

Shi Suofang from the Jiangsu Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine is the oldest. At 58, he is the captain of the medical team.


Han Xudong, 23, is the youngest member of this medical team.

Upon arrival in Wuhan, this medical team will give full play to traditional Chinese medicine and assist the rescue work of the mobile cabin hospital and the local traditional Chinese hospitals.
