Jiangsu Provincial People’s Hospital sent a 37-member emergency medical team to Wuhan to help contain the novel coronavirus epidemic there.
The 37-member medical consists of professionals from clinical medical care, medical technology, functional management and logistics support and will be targeting critically ill patients in Wuhan, the epicenter of the epidemic.
The medical team is also equipped with a medical rescue integrated vehicle, a medical inspection vehicle and a medical material support vehicle, which will enable long-term emergency handling and logistic support on site.
Chen Xufeng, head of the team, is an expert in the treatment of critically ill patients. He has extensive experience from his participation in the SARS epidemic rescue in 2003 and the Wenchuan earthquake rescue in 2008.
The emergency medical team went aboard a high-speed train at Nanjing South Railway Station Tuesday afternoon to head for Wuhan.
