Lou Qinjian, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress, visited an army air force brigade in Suqian city on Monday.
On behalf of the provincial party committee, the provincial government and the people of the province, Lou Qinjian extended his sincere thanks to the military servicemen and servicewomen for their contributions to the economic and social development of Jiangsu and his holiday greetings to all the troops in Jiangsu.
At a symposium held in Suqian, Lou briefed the officers and soldiers on the province’s efforts for high quality development and the construction of a new Jiangsu.
He said that for a long time, the officers and soldiers of the Jiangsu troops have taken Jiangsu as their hometown, regarded the local people as relatives, and supported local development. In particular, they have greatly assisted in undertaking urgent and dangerous tasks and helping to get rid of poverty, and consolidated the unity of the military, government, and the people for the promotion of local development and progress.
In the new year, Jiangsu will implement Xi Jinping's new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics, and the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s series of important speeches on the work of Jiangsu, carry forward the fine tradition of military and civilian integration, and further improve the placement, employment and schooling for the military servicemen and their dependants so as to give full play to the its role of the strong backing for the reform and development of the armed forces and a strong guarantee for realizing the party's goal of making the armed forces powerful under the new situation.
The CPC Provincial Chief inspected a field service company where the soldiers were studying the order signed by President Xi Jinping demanding the Chinese military to further strengthen its combat training and exercises this year.
The order requested the armed forces to stick to Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era as their guiding principle and uphold Xi Jinping Thought on Strengthening the Military, as well as military strategies in the new era.
The military must enhance its troops' combat preparedness, closely observe adversaries' moves, exert all-out efforts to improve training and remain on high alert to ensure it is always ready for, and can win in any possible war, the order said.
2020 is the third consecutive year that Xi has issued a training order to the Chinese military.
The first such order was issued in January 2018 when the president oversaw and addressed a massive training-commencement ceremony at a shooting range in northern China.
Lou Qinjian said that the army is a melting pot and a school. He hoped that the servicemen and servicewomen will vigorously carry forward the fine traditions and fulfill the new era mission entrusted by the party and the people.
