Lou Qinjian, secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, went on an inspection tour to the rural areas of Suqian city to visit the rural residents' homes and elderly homes, greet the needy people, senior party members, demobilized soldiers and the five-guarantee elderly, and wish them a happy Chinese New Year.
When inspecting Dudun village, Sihong County, one of the impoverished villages designated by the provincial government, Lou Qinjian visited the home of Chen Yonghong, a family of extreme poverty that is included in the government’s relief list.
He was pleased to be told that Chen’s family has had income growth through their own efforts and the help of the government.
The CPC provincial chief later visited Xia Yulong and his son. Both the father and son were military servicemen before demobilization.
The father suffered from an illness and was categorized as the people subject to special care given by the government to ex-servicemen and family members of revolutionary martyrs and ex-servicemen.
However, Xia volunteered to be excluded from the list of basic monthly allowance, which Lou Qinjian spoke highly of.
Lou Qinjian also paid a visit to Xia Yuquan, former secretary of the village’s CPC branch.
When told that Xia and his wife are in straitened circumstances, Lou Qinjian asked the local officials to make sure of a decent life for the CPC members and former heads of the CPC branches in the rural areas.
The CPC provincial chief also visited the party-people liaison center where he inquired of the village’s income, the promotion of livelihood projects and the improvement of rural houses.
When visiting a nursery home in Sihong County, Lou Qinjian greeted the 40-plus elders there, wishing them a happy Chinese New Year.
