The standing members of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee were briefed Sunday on party governance at the prefectural level. The debriefing was made by the heads of the prefectural CPC committees across the province.
Provincial Party Secretary Lou Qinjian presided over the meeting and delivered a speech.
He stressed the need to adhere to the Xi Jinping Thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era, make persistent and sustained efforts, take targeted measures, and unswervingly promote the comprehensive and strict governance of the party.
The heads of the CPC committees at the prefectural level and the CPC committees at relevant departments gave respective reports on the work of party building and party governance in the past year.
Lou Qinjian emphasized that the Fourth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee will make new major arrangements for improving the comprehensive and strict governance of the party system.
We must unswervingly advance the system of governing the party, pay more attention to giving play to the normative leading effect of the system, strengthen the determination of the party to govern the system, advance system construction, and continue to improve the quality and level of party construction in accordance with the party constitution and party discipline, he said.
Lou Qinjian pointed out that ideological work is the work of setting the heart for the country and the soul of the nation, adding that we must regard consolidating Marxism as a guiding position and consolidating unity and struggle as a common ideological foundation.
The CPC Provincial chief emphasized that we must conscientiously implement a series of system documents issued by the central government to strengthen the building of grass-roots organizations, unswervingly solidify the grass-roots foundation, and strive to build every grass-roots party organization into a fortress that overcomes difficulties and forges every party member into a responsible vanguard so as to provide a strong organizational guarantee for the province's reform, development and stability.
Lou Qinjian pointed out that it is important to thoroughly implement the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, unswervingly correct the party's ethics, oppose corruption, strengthen supervision, address both the root causes and the symptoms of the problems, bolster the anti-corruption campaign, and resolutely eradicate the soil that breeds malpractices and corruption issues, and consolidate the development of a healthy political environment.
Lou also stressed the importance of studying and implementing General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important exposition on production safety, and regard production safety as a political requirement for safeguarding the authority of the CPC Central Committee and getting united around the centralized and unified leadership the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core.
Lou Qinjian demanded that the heads of the CPC prefectural committees and CPC secretaries of relevant departments and organizations must uphold higher standards and requirements, see Party self-governance exercised fully and with rigor, come up with effective measures, achieve tangible results and promote the achievements and development of party building.
