Jiangyin, a county-level city in Wuxi, Jiangsu province, topped the latest report on the country's top 100 industrial counties, which was released in Beijing on Nov 13.
This is the third time Jiangyin has won the honor, which was announced at the annual China Country Economy Development Forum hosted by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology.
Jiangyin has once again proved to be one of China's most economically competitive counties, with the total output of industrial enterprises in the city above designated size up 9.6 percent in the first nine months of this year.
This September, a total of 91 projects worth 68 billion yuan were signed in Jiangyin, of which 69 related to advanced manufacturing.
A number of impressive projects are being carried out in the city. The first phase of Envision's AESC smart battery production factory, which covers an area of 70,000 square meters, will begin this month.
"Cities like Jiangyin, which relies mainly on manufacturing, should bring in more high-quality projects to power its development," said Chen Jinhu, Party secretary of Jiangyin.
Chen noted that Jiangyin is working to improve innovation, capital, and talent with the aim of attracting more high-quality investment.
