On October the 11th, the opening ceremony of 2019 “Shared Joy in Jiangsu” International Jazz Music Festival, organized by Jiangsu provincial government, was held in the Culture and arts center of Nanjing. Multiple jazz bands from different countries offered their excellent performance to the audience.
This year, the music festival invited 9 jazz bands to the opening ceremony, including bands from Belgium, Germany, Slovenia as well as Jiangsu province. During the ceremony, besides performing their own representative music, the bands also performed traditional Chinese music, including Youth Dance, Jasmine Flower and Happiness.

After the opening ceremony, some of the bands will give 25 shows in cities including Changzhou, Suzhou and Lianyungang.
2019 is the 17th year for the annual festival of Jazz music, a part of the brand of “Shared Joy in Jiangsu”, an international cultural project of the province. So far, the festival has in total invited nearly a hundred bands from more than 20 countries and regions, holding 540 shows for more than 650 thousand viewers. The festival is now an important cultural channel for foreigners in Jiangsu to learn about the provinces
