While many people were going to the outdoors for sightseeing or visiting friends, some others have remained committed to their post by working extra hours during the National Day holiday.
The Suijie Street of Yancheng city attracted many visitors due to the big circus performances and food festivals during the holiday. During the rush hours, police officers would stand at the intersection to direct the vehicles to ensure smooth traffic flow.
Every day, the police officers would walk 20000 steps and keep working 15 hours in a row during the holiday.
Police also enhanced the management on scenic areas by diverting traffic and dealing with various cases in crowded downtown areas.
Street cleaners were also kept busy during the week-long holiday. A cleaner surnamed Chen was barely able to take a rest by sweeping the Gexian Lake Park in Jurong County. He said he was pleased that his extra hours had been rewarded with the pleasure of the holiday-makers.
Wang Siliang, a master of wedding ceremony in Suqian city, was busy coping with 15 wedding ceremonies during the 7-day National Day holiday.
Wang Siliang, 30 years old, has been a wedding ceremony master for 11 years. Every year on holidays, when others go out to play and relax with their children, he would see the busiest time of the year with little time spent with their family members. By witnessing more than 2,000 weddings in more than 10 years, he said he has harvested the most from the happiness of the newly-weds.
