East China’s Jiangsu province held a symposium Tuesday afternoon to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. Lou Qinjian, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, addressed the event. The symposium was presided over by Wu Zhenglong, deputy secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee and governor of Jiangsu.
On behalf of the provincial party committee and the provincial government, Lou Qinjian extends his warmest holiday greetings to the people of Jiangsu.
He said that General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech has call for the Chinese people to realize national rejuvenation and get united for the struggle and advancement in the new great journey for new and greater victories.
He said it is necessary to thoroughly study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech, grasp the theme of the times, keep our mission firmly in mind, and continue to push forward the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics under the instruction of the General Secretary.
The CPC Provincial chief summed up the achievements Jiangsu has made since the founding of New China in 1949, adding that we will always remember the hardships of Jiangsu's heroic struggle during the revolutionary period, always remember the arduous years of Jiangsu's hard struggle since the founding of New China, and always remember the glorious years of Jiangsu's efforts to be the first since the reform and opening up.
Lou Qinjian pointed out that since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the provincial party committee and the provincial government have kept in mind General Secretary Xi Jinping’s instructions, grasped the orientation in the new era, seize the trend and rule of law of development, tackled the major problems in the society, and promoted high-quality development.
In the great process of realizing the two centenarian goals, we will not only build a well-off society at a high level, but also actively carry out the exploration of basically realizing modernization, and continue to push forward the construction of a new Jiangsu that faces modernization, faces the world and faces the future, said Lou Qinjian.
The CPC Provincial secretary emphasized that the glorious course of Jiangsu in the past 70 years is a vivid epitome of the construction and development of New China. The leadership of the Communist Party of China is the fundamental guarantee for winning the victory by unswervingly following the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
He noted that the CPC has kept advancing with the times to inherit and develop the guiding ideology until the emergence of the Xi Jinping Thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for the new era, which is the most advanced theoretical and ideological weapon.
We have insisted on reform and opening up, which is the key to determining the fate of the future, he said, adding that we have always kept our mission firmly in mind, which is an important magic weapon for winning one victory after another.
Lou Qinjian demanded that more efforts should be made to remain true to our original aspiration and keep our mission firmly in mind so as to embark on the new journey for greater victories.
The CPC Provincial chief urged the province to learn from the past experiences and lessons, strengthen the ideals and convictions, strengthen the national consciousness and patriotism, bear in mind and stay true to the Party’s founding mission and push forward the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics so as to make greater progress in the realization of a basically modernized society and a comprehensive well-off society and contribute to the force of Jiangsu to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
Wu Zhenglong demanded governments and government departments at all levels in the province follow the spirit of the important speech made by General Secretary Xi Jinping at the grand rally celebrating the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China from the political height of strengthening the four consciousnesses and the four self-confidences, safeguarding the authority of the CPC Central Committee and getting united around the centralized and unified leadership the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core so as to make greater contribution to the construction of a new Jiangsu.
