Xing Chunning, vice chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Congress, met Sunday in Nanjing with Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna, Ambassador-at-Large of Brunei.
Xing Chunning extended her warm welcome to Princess Masna for her visit to Jiangsu.
She said that Jiangsu is grasping the major opportunities from the overlapping effects of the national strategies such as the Belt and Road initiative, the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, and the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta by regarding high-quality development as the most distinctive guide for the development of Jiangsu in the new era.
Jiangsu and Brunei have maintained friendly relations for generation after generation, Xing said.
She noted that in recent years, the exchanges between the two sides have become increasingly close with good momentum in various fields.
The vice chairwoman of the provincial legislature hoped that the two sides will rely on the role of sister city as a link to continuously deepen the pragmatic cooperation in economy, trade, culture and tourism, promote the communication between the two peoples so as to achieve complementary advantages and shared development.
Masna said that Brunei has enjoyed friendly relationship with China for more than 2,000 years. Brunei is willing to take the opportunity of "Brunei-China Tourism Year" next year to expand people-to-people exchanges between Brunei and Jiangsu and promote the exchanges and cooperation between the two sides.
