Patients from Jiangsu are now able to swipe their social security card to have the payment reimbursed directly when seeking medical treatment at 2537 hospitals in the Yangtze River Delta region by the end of July.
Some people suggested that the direct reimbursement of medical expenses for trans-provincial medical treatment should be made available online or through cell phone apps.
Some other people complained that they have been denied the access to direct reimbursement of medical expenses for trans-provincial medical treatment when seeking medical treatment at specialty hospitals.
Since the launch of the theme education of staying true to the Party’s founding mission, the provincial healthcare security administration has kept visiting grassroots communities to solicit opinions on the implementation of the direct reimbursement of medical expenses for trans-provincial medical treatment.
Six inadequacies have been sorted out, prompting the administration to map out plans for further rectification and draft the time table for solution.
Zhou Jianchun, deputy director of the Jiangsu Health Insurance Center, said that the direct reimbursement of medical expenses for trans-provincial medical treatment has been be made available through cell phone apps and the administration is endeavoring to incorporate all the designated hospitals into the national system.
Xiang Bowei, deputy director of the provincial healthcare security administration, promised more efforts to facilitate the direct reimbursement of medical expenses for trans-provincial medical treatment.
In the 2017 Government Work Report, the State Council proposed that a streamlined medical insurance e-platform would be promoted nationwide in a bid to facilitate settlement for nonlocal healthcare services.
By end of September that year, an integrated national e-platform for medical insurance materialized and came into force.
