The sea-railway intermodal train from Huai’an New Port in Jiangsu to Ningbo Port in Zhejiang rolled out Thursday. Loaded with container cargos, the train will deliver goods to Ningbo Port for transshipment to the Middle East, Europe, America and Australia. It will serve as a golden artery for the foreign trade business in the Huaihe River valley and the Grand Canal areas. The sea-railway transport mode has also helped Huai’an to shift from its reliance on the Yangtze River and the Grand Canal to the oceans while cut the cost of logistics by 20% to 30%.
