Jiangsu gearing up for 2nd China International Import Expo

  The team of east Chinas Jiangsu province organized a trade promotion road show Tuesday in Nanjing as a sign of gearing up for the second China International Import Expo that is scheduled to take place in Shanghai in November.

  The road show focused on the promotion of the quality life exhibition zone and food and agricultural products exhibition zone. Representatives of some exhibitors briefed the media on their plans for the exhibition.

  The Provincial State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, the Provincial Health Commission, and Suning Group will send their teams to the expo.

  Last year, 13 prefectural cities in Jiangsu organized their teams to showcase their competitive strength at the expo.

  Jiangsu will highlight government policy support to major import firms, private enterprises and SMEs when seeking greater presence at the second expo.

  Tickets for the entrance to the Expo will be borne by the provincial trading group. Jiangsu is also actively pursuing various financial funding and encouraging financial institutions to introduce specific measures to support corporate procurement.

  Jiangsu will also hold the Jiangsu Open Innovation and Development International Consultation Conference, the 2nd China Expo Fair Cross-border E-commerce Import Commodities Purchase Fair, and the 2nd China-New Service Trade Innovation Forum on the sidelines of the expo.

  The 2nd China International Import Expo that will be held in November at the National Convention and Exhibition Center in Shanghai.

  Thousands of companies from all over the world will participate in the exhibition and discuss cooperation with domestic buyers.

  More than 3,000 companies from 150 countries will participate in the second import expo to be held from November 5th to 10th. This year's import fair consists of the National Comprehensive Exhibition, the Enterprise Business Exhibition and the Hongqiao International Economic Forum.

  The corporate trade show covers seven exhibition areas including technology life, automobiles, equipment, medical equipment, medicine and health care, food and agricultural products. The exhibition area has increased from the 270,000 square meters in the first expo to more than 300,000 square meters, showing the great attraction of the Chinese market to overseas companies.

  The launch of the import expo is a major initiative of China to open the market to the world. The first session of the Expo registered a contracted volume of US$57.83 billion.
