East China’s Jiangsu province reported growth momentum in its high quality development in the first half of this year to give a strong boost to the increasingly important role of enterprises as the market players.
Jiangsu reported rapid growth in its high-tech industry in the first half of the year with the growth rate of investment in high-tech industries accelerated, up 9.5% year on year and contributing one-third to the entire investment growth.
The output value of high-tech industries has also steadily increased, with a year-on-year increase of 6.4%, accounting for over 44% of the total industrial output value, highlighting the significant improvement in the quality and efficiency of the real economy.
In the first half of the year, the number of patent applications in the province ranked among the top three in the country with the main indicators of intellectual property creation such as invention patent ownership and invention patent authorization continuing to be among the top in the country.
Enterprises have played an increasingly prominent role as the main market player of innovation. In the first half of the year, the number of patent applications filed by the enterprises in Jiangsu accounted for 76.15% of the total number of applications, and the number of patents granted to the enterprises in Jiangsu accounted for 79.82% of the total amount authorized. Both figures set a record high.
At the same time, the vitality of corporate innovation was confirmed by the increasing emphasis on trademarks. In the first half of the year, Jiangsu recorded 232, 526 trademark registrations, a year-on-year increase of 76.37%, which stands for an average of one valid trademark per 6.89 market entities.
