The city of Nanjing has started to construct its metro line 7 to further improve its light rail transit system. Running from Xianxinlu in the northeast to Xishanqiao in the southwest, the artery LRT route stretches 35.5 kilometers with 27 underground stations to be built. 13 of them are transfer stations. Construction on 25 stations has got underway. With the work going on smoothly, the metro line is scheduled for operation in June 2021.
