The CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee held a group study session on Tuesday on the further promotion of the theme education of staying true to the Party’s founding mission among all Party members. Wu Zhenglong, deputy secretary of the CPC Provincial Committee and governor, attended the session. He was joined by Huang Lixin, chairwoman of the Provincial CPPCC and Ren Zhenghe, deputy secretary of the CPC Provincial Committee. Wang Yanwen, standing member of the CPC Provincial Committee and head of the Publicity Department, presided over the study session.
Professor Xie Chuntao, vice president of the Party School of the CPC Central Committee and vice president of the National Academy of Governance, gave a report on the importance of staying true to the founding mission among CPC members.
The fundamental task of conducting in-depth studies on and implementing the thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era, forging the political character of loyalty, integrity and a keen sense of responsibility, and uniting the Chinese people of all ethnic groups and leading them to strive together for the realization of the great dream, should be firmly grasped, in order to make sure the campaign has its desired effect, Xie said.
General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech during the fifteenth study session of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee emphasized the promotion of the party’s self-revolution in the new era from the height of strengthening the party’s long-term governance capacity, advanced nature and purity, which serves as a guide to further promoting the theme education and strengthening the party building in the new era, he said.
The leading officials agreed that the General Secretary’s important instructions on forestalling and defusing major risks have re-emphasized the importance of preventing and mitigating major risks from the height of the party and the country’s overall cause in the new era, pointing out the direction for us and giving us a wake-up call, the statement said.
Xi Jinping, general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, gave a speech at a key meeting on May 31 to launch a campaign themed "staying true to our founding mission" among all Party members.
Xi, also Chinese president and chairman of the Central Military Commission, noted in the speech that seeking happiness for the Chinese people and rejuvenation of the Chinese nation is the Party's original aspiration and mission, and the fundamental driving force behind the heroic fight of generations of CPC members.
Since the launch of the theme education, the CPC Central Committee has issued a circular on the disciplinary investigation and punishment of formalism and bureaucratic cases and the lessons to be learned, which fully demonstrated the clear attitude of the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core to resolutely rectify formalism and bureaucracy, to strictly manage the party with disciplinary rules and a strong determination and issued a grave warning to the party organizations and party members and cadres at all levels.
