Lou Qinjian, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, met on Saturday in Nanjing with Liu Yuzhu, head of the National Cultural Heritage Administration.
Lou Qinjian expressed his gratitude to the National Cultural Heritage Administration for its long-standing support for Jiangsu's work.
He said Jiangsu has been a major cultural province since the ancient times with splendid history and culture and many excellent cultural heritages, making it a historical responsibility for the province to better protect and inherit these precious heritages.
He hoped that the National Cultural Heritage Administration would strengthen the guidance in the construction of the Grand Canal Cultural Belt, the preservation of the museum collection of cultural heritages, Nanjing’s bid for its Ming Dynasty Wall to be inscribed on the world heritage registry and the protection and utilization of the buildings of the Republic of China era, the ancient water towns and the ancient villages.
The CPC provincial chief expressed his hope that the National Cultural Heritage Administration will help Jiangsu continuously improve its cultural heritage protection and utilization so as to benefit the people and make greater contributions to the inheritance of outstanding historical culture and the enhancement of national cultural soft power.
Liu Yuzhu said Jiangsu has always been at the forefront of the country in the protection, utilization and management of cultural heritages, adding that the National Cultural Heritage Administration will, as always, support Jiangsu's practical exploration of the protection and utilization of cultural heritages and help with the high-quality development of Jiangsu’s cultural undertakings.
