The lives of two passengers were saved at the critical moments when police officers, medical workers and paramedics raced against time to conduct first-aid paramedic services.

At 9:00 am on July 16th, a male passenger suddenly developed epilepsy in the tunnel of Nanjing South Railway Station. He had a bleeding head as he fell to the ground.

The police officers and subway staff rushed to the scene and started to find medical workers through the loudspeaker.

Two nurses from Siyang County immediately rushed to the scene to conduct first aid.

The man came back to consciousness and was later transferred to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

It turned out that the two nurses were about to get aboard the coach to head back home when they did not hesitate a moment to rush to the scene.

Shi Liping, a nurse from Rudong County, was aboard a high-speed train on Tuesday noon when she learned that a 67-year-old woman suffered from the onset of an illness. She rushed to the scene to tend the sick woman by testing the blood pressure and feeding medicines over a period of about one hour. The patient soon came back to consciousness and was later transferred to a hospital in Nanjing when the train pulled into the railway station.

In another development, a security guard offered a helping hand to move an elderly woman to the outpatient clinic of a hospital in Yangzhou.

Zhang Jiansheng, the security guard, noticed that an elderly man was trying in vain to raise his wife on the way to the outpatient clinic.

Zhang dashed forward to hold the elderly woman in his hands and moved her into the outpatient clinic in one minute. The woman, suffering from a heart attack, was later treated and discharged from the hospital.
