Governor Wu Zhenglong presided over an executive meeting of the provincial government on Monday to study the rectification on the feedback from the State Council Work Safety Committee’s assessment and inspection team, heard the report on safety production in the first half of the year, and deployed the next phase of work.
Wu Zhenglong emphasized that this year marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of New China and also a crucial year for winning the campaign for building a comprehensively well-off society, making it all the more important to do a good job in safety production.
Wu demanded that greater efforts should be made to enhance production safety in summer. He made the remarks at a video conference held Thursday in Nanjing.
The Governor asked the relevant departments to study the important expositions made by General Secretary on emergency management and production safety by learning from the lesson of the deadly chemical plant blast in Xiangshui County that claimed 78 lives.
He demanded that party committees and governments at all levels in the province should enhance the responsibility for production safety by gaining a thorough understanding of the current situation in production safety.
The Governor stressed that summer is the time that is prone to all kinds of natural disasters and safety accidents.
He required relevant departments to troubleshoot key areas and aspects by strengthening responsibility awareness so as to make due contribution to the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the founding of New China.
The meeting reviewed the Implementation Opinions on Accelerating the Transformation of Agricultural Mechanization and Agricultural Machinery Equipment Industry.
Agricultural mechanization and agricultural machinery and equipment are important foundations for transforming agricultural development methods and improving rural productivity, hereby an important support for implementing the rural revitalization strategies, according to a statement released after the meeting.
It is important to adhere to the innovation-driven development, improve the policy system, step up the transformation of agricultural machinery and equipment industry towards high-quality development, promote the comprehensive and high-quality and efficient upgrading of agricultural mechanization, and lift the modern agricultural construction to a new level, the statement said.
