Lou Qinjian, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, met with Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, chairwoman of the National Assembly of Vietnam.
On behalf of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, the Provincial People's Congress Standing Committee, the Provincial Government and the Provincial Political Consultative Conference, Mr. Lou expressed his warm welcome to the Vietnamese National Assembly delegation.
Lou said that China and Vietnam are good neighbors, good brothers and good partners. Under the joint promotion of the leaders of the two countries, the comprehensive strategic cooperation between the two countries has ushered in a new chapter. The friendly exchanges and cooperation between Jiangsu and Vietnam have also maintained continuous development with fruitful results in education, culture and other fields.
The CPC Provincial chief noted that Jiangsu is stepping up its efforts for industrial upgrading and transformation by taking advantage of the overlapping effects of the Belt and Road initiative, the Yangtze River Economic Belt and the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta.
Jiangsu and Vietnam have strong complementarities in economy and industry, said Lou Qinjian, adding that Jiangsu is willing to work with Vietnam to seriously implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries and jointly seize the development opportunities brought about by globalization, and give full play to the advantages of both sides in the construction of the "Belt and Road", strengthen pragmatic cooperation in investment cooperation and industrial support, share experience in industrial park development, continue to expand people-to-people exchanges, and make positive contributions to promoting the development of friendly relations between China and Vietnam.
Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan said that she is pleased to visit the beautiful province of Jiangsu for the first time, adding that Jiangsu possesses profound cultural heritages and enjoys abundant resources of science and education, which has laid a solid foundation for its remarkable achievements in economic and social development.
Vietnam will learn from Jiangsu’s good experiences and practices in reform and opening up, she said.
She hoped that the two sides will implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, further strengthen economic and trade exchanges and cultural exchanges with Jiangsu, and carry out cooperation in more areas such as the construction of industrial parks, strengthen exchanges between the Vietnamese National Assembly and the Jiangsu People's Congress, and work together to promote mutual benefit and common development amidst the deepening of the traditional friendship.
