Pasi Sakari Hellman, who became new head of the Consulate General of Finland in Shanghai in June, said he was glad to be invited to participate the Nanjing Tech Week and the city left him a deep impression.
"This is my first trip to Nanjing and I have a tight schedule. The ancient city wall of Ming Dynasty that I can see from the car window has impressed me deeply. Shanghai is very close to Nanjing, so there will be more opportunities for me to come here in the future," he said.
Nanjing has opened direct flight to Helsinki, bringing the two cities much closer. Pasi Sakari Hellman said Finland has industrial leaders in the fields of Internet of Things, sustainable energy, circular economy, and environmental protection. He said he hopes for more deeper cooperation between Finland and Nanjing on green buildings, water management, and reducing carbon emissions.
