Kunshan experts share experiences of industrial park management in Ethiopia

  The training center of Jiangsu Kunshan (Ethiopia) Industrial Park, located in the Dire Dawa industrial zone of Ethiopia, opened its classes on the morning of July 2.

  The first group of 30 trainees is all from Dire Dawa industrial zone. The trainers are three experts who have rich experiences in industrial park management, including Xuan Binglong, former director of the Kunshan Economic and Technological Development Zone. They will share their experiences in the eight-day training.

  Ethiopia, an important country involved in the Belt and Road Initiative, is also a pilot country for China-Africa industrial capacity cooperation. In 2015, the National Development and Reform Commission of China worked with the Ministry of Finance and Economic Cooperation of Ethiopia to establish a bilateral mechanism for industrial capacity cooperation. In the following year, Jiangsu signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Ethiopia Investment Commission, focusing on giving full play to the advantages of Jiangsu's rich experience in industrial park construction and management and exploring the right development models of overseas industrial parks.

  Data showed, since 2016, Kunshan has trained 36 people for Ethiopia in three batches. The Kunshan expert consultative group has traveled to Ethiopia four times, training more than 100 managers. Those people trained by Kunshan have already served as senior managers of in various Ethiopian industrial parks, including one being the general manager of the Hawassa Industrial Park.
