Wu Zhenglong, governor of Jiangsu, gave a lecture on party building Saturday at the CPC Jiangsu Provincial School to stress the importance of following the Xi Jinping Thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for the new era so as to promote the national campaign of staying true to the Party’s founding mission among all the Party members.
Wu recalled General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important exposition on remaining true to our original aspiration and keeping our mission firmly in mind.
He said that political firmness and firmness in action stem from theoretical sobriety.
The Governor said since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, General Secretary Xi Jinping has taken the extraordinary theoretical courage, outstanding political wisdom, and strong mission of Marxist politicians, thinkers, and strategists, opened up a new realm of Marxism, and created the Xi Jinping Thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for the new era, which is a powerful weapon for our party to lead the people in carrying out the great struggle, building great projects, advancing great undertakings, and realizing great dreams.
In contemporary China, adhering to and developing the Xi Jinping Thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for the new era means truly adhering to and developing Marxism and truly uphold and develop scientific socialism, he said.
Wu Zhenglong pointed out that our party's magnificent course and both positive and negative experiences have fully proved that only by safeguarding the core can the whole party and the country jointly form a concentric circle and only by jointly safeguarding the party's central authority can we maintain the unity and strength of the entire party for the promotion of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
The Governor noted that since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the party and the country have made historic achievements and historic changes, which is attributed to the strong leadership of General Secretary Xi Jinping as the core and at the helm and the strong leadership of the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core.
He urged the province to take the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping and the decision-making of the Party Central Committee as the primary political task from the political height of strengthening the four consciousnesses and the four self-confidences, safeguarding the authority of the CPC Central Committee and getting united around the centralized and unified leadership the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core.
Wu Zhenglong pointed out that at present Jiangsu has stood at a new starting point for its development, making it all the more important to adhere to the guidance of the Xi Jinping Thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for the new era, firmly grasp the general requirements and objectives of the theme education, and adhere to the general tone of making steady progress while maintain stability for the construction of a new Jiangsu.
The Governor called for more efforts to be made to promote industrial transformation and upgrading, accelerate the transformation of development kinetic energy, promote the coordinated development of urban and rural areas, strengthen the construction of ecological civilization, enhance the sense of gain, happiness and security, strive to promote high-quality development and realize the two centenary goals and the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
