Nanjing Tech Week 2019 was launched on Wednesday. Nearly 180 academicians and 6 Nobel laureates from 45 countries and regions are invited to take part in this week-long event, more than 500 cutting-edge technologies from around the world also make appearance in this event.
The opening of Nanjing Tech Week was marked by Purple Mountain Innovation Conference held at Nanjing International Expo Center on the morning of June 26th.
The slogan of Nanjing Tech Week is "Infinite Nanjing, Infinite Future". From June 26th to June 30th, global renowned scientists, entrepreneurs, investors and representatives from innovative organizations are invited to Nanjing to share innovative thoughts, technological achievements, and cooperation opportunities in diversified activities.
During the innovation conference, Wu Zhenglong, Governor of Jiangsu Province, and Zhang Jinghua, standing member of Jiangsu provincial party committee, gave speeches to extend warm welcome and to introduce the background and vision of innovation in Nanjing City as well as Jiangsu Province. The conference was hosted by Lan Shaomin, Mayor of Nanjing.
A number of globally famous scholars and nobel prize winners attended the conference. The guests who gave keynote speeches in the conference include:
Finn Kydland, Norwegian economist, winner of Nobel economics prize, and professor of economics;
Richard Florida, professor and head of the Martin Prosperity Institute at the Rotman School of Management;
Zhou Hongyi, chairman and chief executive officer of the internet security enterprise 360;
and Samuel Chao Cheung Ting, American born Chinese physicist and winner of nobel physics prize.
Apart from his speech, Finn Kydland shared with us his insight on how to boost long-term development and innovation in Nanjing.
The launch of a cooperative framework of China and Finland was announced by Pasi Hellman, Consul General of Finland in Shanghai.
After the speeches, several guests, including nobel prize winners and scholars and scientists from various countries, participated in a summit talk to discuss the global future of technology and innovation.
At the end of the conference, the guests announced the establishment of the T20 Alliance of Innovation Transfer Agencies, with the slogan "Connection Matters More than Possession", to facilitate regional and international cooperation in services innovation.
In the following days, varied forums, exhibitions and summits will be organized to further the discussion of innovation.
