Jiangsu Province rolled out a 3-year action plan to promote the development of Internet of Vehicles (IoV) on June 12.
IoV technology enables information sharing on vehicles, roads and their surroundings, effectively helping guide and supervise vehicles, and providing abundant multimedia and mobile Internet application services.
By 2021, the province aims to increase the output value of the IoV industries over 100 billion yuan, establish a complete industry chain with sound development in fields of vehicles, information interaction and infrastructure, and support the establishment of two to three industrial hubs with leading competitiveness and scales in the country.
From 2019 to 2011, priorities will be given to cities including Nanjing, Wuxi, Changzhou, Suzhou and Yancheng and efforts will be made to guide auto makers to develop a brand-new IoV research and development platforms, by applying artificial intelligence, Internet, big data and virtual simulation.
Jiangsu will speed up the development of road test and verification system and promote the construction of national-level IoV test base in Wuxi and the IoV test and application base in Changzhou.
