Lou Qinjian, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, and Wu Zhenglong, governor of Jiangsu, met on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday in Nanjing with some guests attending 2nd Jiangsu Development Summit and 1st Global Jiangsu Entrepreneurs Convention.
Lou Qinjian met Tuesday in Nanjing with Zhao Houlin, secretary general of the International Telecommunication Union. He said that Jiangsu is making efforts to cultivate a new generation of information technology industry, promote the innovative application of information technology in various fields of economy and society, and accelerate the transformation and upgrading of the economy.
In recent years, the International Telecommunication Union and Jiangsu have had frequent interactions, Lou said, adding that it is hoped that the two sides will deepen pragmatic cooperation, strengthen exchanges of technology and talents in the field of information and communication, and better promote Jiangsu enterprises’ globalized strategies.
Zhao Houlin expressed his congratulations on the success of the 2nd Jiangsu Development Summit and the first Global Jiangsu Entrepreneurs Convention. He said that he will play an active role in contributing to the development of his hometown.
Lou Qinjian and Wu Zhenglong met with Dai Houliang, chairman of Sinopec Group on Tuesday. The two sides expressed their desire to deepen pragmatic cooperation, focus on promoting the transformation and upgrading of Sinopec Nanjing Petrochemical Base, speeding up the construction of large-scale refining and chemical integration projects in Lianyungang, jointly promoting the adjustment of coastal industrial layout and building a green production system with efficient and clean low carbon cycle.
Lou emphasized that Jiangsu has regulated the province’s chemical industry and brought significant development opportunities for the leading enterprises in the industry chain, adding that Jiangsu will work hard to create a good environment for Sinopec Group to optimize its layout and transformation in Jiangsu.
Dai Houliang said that Sinopec will fully support Jiangsu to promote the adjustment of chemical industry along the Yangtze River by further optimizing the planning and layout, making systematic development plans in Jiangsu, and strive to achieve higher quality development.
On Sunday, Lou Qinjian and Wu Zhenglong met with Ning Gaoning, chairman of Sinochem Group.
Lou said that Jiangsu is a major chemical powerhouse and the province will consider environmental protection and industrial upgrading as a whole, and carry out safety and environmental protection improvement of the chemical industry in the province.
He hoped that Sinochem Group will support Jiangsu to improve its industrial development, and bring the most advanced technology and the most stringent energy consumption and environmental protection safety standards to Jiangsu to jointly create a green, safe and modern high-end chemical industry chain.
Ning Gaoning said that Sinochem Group will seize the opportunity to develop green and modern high-end chemical industry, and play a greater role in the adjustment of industrial structure in Jiangsu.
The CPC Provincial chief met on Sunday with Kong Qingwei, Chairman of Pacific Insurance Group. He said that Jiangsu is promoting economic transformation and upgrading and high-quality development by grasping the major opportunities such as the Belt and Road construction and the regional integration development of the Yangtze River Delta, which needs the strong support of the insurance industry and will also expand the space for the development of the insurance industry.
Lou hoped that Pacific Insurance Group will seize the opportunity to increase its investment in Jiangsu and achieve complementary advantages and win-win cooperation in more fields.
Kong Qingwei said that Jiangsu plays an important role in the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta region. The Pacific Insurance Group will give full play to its role as a booster and stabilizer, and expand its investment in Jiangsu to help with the province’s high-quality development.
On Sunday afternoon, Lou Qinjian and Wu Zhenglong met with Bao Zhenan, Academician of the National Academy of Engineering of USA and chairman of the Department of Chemical Engineering at Stanford University.
Lou said that it is the common wish of Jiangsu people at home and abroad to build a better tomorrow in Jiangsu.
He hoped that Academician Bao will give full play to her influence overseas, actively promote her hometown, and give more attention and support to her hometown in terms of industrial cooperation, academic discipline promotion and personnel training.
Bao Zhenan said that she is very happy to see that her hometown is getting better and better and she will strive to contribute to the high quality development of Jiangsu.
