Overseas Chinese returnees native to Jiangsu province have been committed to supporting hometown’s development since the opening of the first Jiangsu Development Summit. Let’s take a close look.
Two years ago, Chen Zhilie, member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and Chairman of the Board of Directors of EVOC Hi-Tech Holdings Group, suggested at the first Jiangsu Development Conference that the general chambers of commerce in Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Wuxi launched a tripartite strategic cooperation to promote industrial development in the three regions.
Shortly after the meeting, Wuxi Yanxiang Shenzhen-Hong Kong Science and Technology Park has invested an additional 250 million yuan to build a small and medium-sized technology enterprise incubation platform.

The project will be completed and put into use by late 2020 or early 2021 when we will introduce about 200 technology-based enterprises.
In the past two years, Wuxi has held the Global Wuxi Merchants Conference and Wuxi fellowship talks to bring together the wisdom and strength of Wuxi businessmen around the world. It has also introduced a series of investment and industrial policies to have attracted more than 20 projects with a total investment of over RMB 180 billion.
In Nantong, Nantong Merchants Summit and other activities have built a platform for overseas returnees to launch investment projects in Jiangsu with a total investment of more than 20 billion yuan. In all parts of the province, the results of the Jiangsu Development Summit are prompting a new round of investment boom.
Since the first Jiangsu Development Summit, Jiangsu has made further efforts to improve the business environment. In 2018, our company decided to invest 600 million yuan on building the Lianyungang plant to further enhance and expand the production capacity of the Lianyungang plant.
With the help of the Jiangsu Development Summit, a number of Jiangsu chambers of commerce were established at home and abroad. Up to now, the Jiangsu Chambers of Commerce has been launched at 31 provincial-level regions with nearly 60,000 members around the world.
In the past three years, overseas returnees native to Jiangsu have launched investment projects in strategic emerging industries with a total investment of 724.8 billion yuan, accounting for 30% of the total investment, which has helped to promote the high-quality development of Jiangsu by gathering wisdom, resources and strength.
